Fostoria School District
High School and Intermediate Elementary
Vertical: K-12 Schools
Location: Fostoria, OH Facility Type: High School and Elementary School Facility Size: 246,000 square feet Students/Staff: 3,276 Hardware Solution: Tellabs Passive Optical LAN solution Passive Solution: Corning Application: The Fostoria School District was due for a technology upgrade, but the existing Intermediate Elementary School was built in the 1980's and does not have adequate technology closets to support the latest Ohio school standards. A Passive Optical LAN solution by UberData Networks was selected, as technology closets are not required to meet the Ohio School Design Manual (OSDM) requirements. All network electronics, aside from the core switch in the MDF, are located in standard ceiling zone enclosures. Students arrived to a faster and more resilient communications network in August 2018. A new high school is under construction next door, which will also be served by the same Passive Optical LAN solution. Opening of the high school is scheduled for Fall 2019.
