Jeff Van Horne - President / Vice President of Sales & Operations
Jeff is recognized as an industry expert on Passive Optical LAN technology and associated commercial solutions, with over 15 years experience in Passive Optical Networks. Formerly with Tellabs, Jeff managed the engineering development team for xPON technologies. After a four year hiatus developing broadband wireless networks with Navini Networks (Cisco Systems), he returned to Tellabs with global responsibility for business development and product marketing of Tellabs’ Passive Optical LAN solutions. He was instrumental defining and launching the Tellabs Passive Optical LAN product portfolio into both Federal and Commercial enterprise markets.
During the product launch, Jeff worked with industry associations including TIA, FOTC, and BICSI developing training tools and contributions to standards development. He also played a key role in many of the largest Passive Optical LAN deployments in the nation including Sandia National Labs and the Department of Homeland Security.
Jeff was founder and President of Optek Solutions, an industry consulting firm training system integrators the business and technology practices for success with Passive Optical LAN solutions. He has also held business and technology leadership positions at Texas Instruments, Marconi Communications, and Navini Networks. Jeff holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
Jon White - Vice President of Technology
Jon brings over 20 years of IT experience and expertise to UberData Networks, beginning when he enlisted in the military and took on roles including data center analyst, tester, installer, switching and routing. While progressively growing his knowledge in the IT landscape he nurtured his natural ability of management by attending the prestigious Leadership training in Airmen Leadership School, then as Sargent attending NCO academy specializing in principles of managing managers. Before beginning his civilian career, Jon was responsible for the entire network engineering department for Tyndall Air Force base where he redesigned the network backbone and managed a $10 million budget to do so.
His civilian career began with BlueMile Inc., an enterprise provider of cloud, fiber, collocation, and wholesale communications services. As Sr. Network Engineer and Data Facility Manager, Jon lead the development team to build the entire data center from inception. He was responsible for data center operations until the acquisition from Wideopenwest Networks.
Jon held leadership positions at Cardinal Health and Time Warner Cable until his interest was peaked as a consultant on a Passive Optical LAN (POL) project with a national manufacturing firm. Coming to the realization that POL is replacing traditional distribution and access layer technologies, opportunity presented itself to start UberData Networks.
Jon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Dominican University. Jon also attended the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
